Normal water levels in pools are easy to accomplish. Maintaining them could be a challenge, especially in the middle of the rainy summer season or the dry winter season in South Florida.
Rain water not only throws off your chemical balance, but also can create a water level that is too high, which could be detrimental to keeping the pool filtering optimally. If your water level is too high, you must drain the pool until the water can filter properly.
Lack of rain water can be just as frustrating. The natural evaporation takes a larger toll when there is a lack of rain for an extended period of time. When the water level falls below the ability to skim properly, it is recommended to fill the pool with a water hose. Be sure to stay present when filling a pool and never leave the water on by itself, even though it may take time to complete.
Once you get the water to its proper level, be sure to check the chemical balance and continue to do so regularly to ensure the pool is safe to swim. Bring a sample of your pool water to Horizon Pool and Patio’s Wellington store and they will perform a free pool water analysis for you.
