Solar pool heaters work by using your existing pool pump to move the water through a filter and then through a solar collector (which is mounted on any location that’s exposed to the sun). The warmed collector heats the water, which is then returned to the pool. A major advantage of these types of heaters is that they have no additional electrical costs and there are no moving parts that can break down. After installation, a properly maintained system will keep running smoothly for approximately 10–20 years!
