We want you to be aware that as of July 18, 2021, a new federal law will go into effect that governs the type of swimming pool circulation/filtration pump that can be installed. The new law requires that all pool circulation/filtration pumps one horsepower and above, can no longer be conventional single speed pumps. Instead, a variable speed pump will be required. The reason for this change, advocated by the U.S. Department of Energy, is to reduce energy consumption. Pool pumps are one of the highest energy consuming devices in a home next to the A/C unit. On average, this change will save the homeowners $50 – $100 per month on their electric bill. We have been installing variable speed pumps for over 7 years now and the economic savings has proven to be true. It is important to know that after July 1, 2021, suppliers and installers will no longer be allowed to supply or install single speed pumps. More importantly, if you currently have a single speed pump, you will not be able to purchase or install a replacement single speed motor for that pump.
